Pastiche
3rd Year Collaborative Project
This project, done in collaboration with colleagues from Textile Design and Creative Pattern Cutting, was inspired by Indonesian tribal jewelry viewed at the Asian Cultural Museum, Singapore. The key research image was the gold pendants worn by the Nias and Sumba tribes of Indonesia. The unique yet minimal shape of the jewels inspired the sihouettes and main design elements of the collection. The collection mood is experimental elegance, refined but unique. Relaxed silhouettes are highlighted with a combination of screen printing and embellishment on luxurious fabrics.
